Not expecting yesefu, pettiford, cuffe, or clemence back. Maybe 1 or 2

I hope we help find Clemence a good home, especially since we are trying to get Cam another year. Clemence is not good enough to be a main rotational piece at a program with expectations like KU.

Cuffe is just along for the ride. I don't think he ever expects to contribute with DH here.

I hope Yesufu stays and Bobby leaves if we can only keep 1 of the 2.

I hope MJ Rice stays.

Zach is absolutely good enough. He can shoot. See today.

Nah fam.

Zach can't play defense. Not the 5. Not the 4. He can shoot, but they usually miss.

Udeh and Zuby are the 5s of the future.

here’s hoping Elmarko (or one of the other incoming guards) can provide some offensive lift
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Given the landscape of college basketball, I wouldn't be surprised if anyone other than Dajuan, KJ and probably Ernest, transfer out.

Jalen will be off to play overseas, Gradey will be a top 10 draft pick, but for some reason I can see McCullar coming back...I know he did a Senior speech and all that, but I get the weird feeling that there's a decent chance at getting a Super Senior year out of him.

Idk why you guys are assuming elmarko is gonna be ready day one next season

We did this shit with mj rice this season, I was one of the only people before the season that said he was raw and probably wouldn't be a big contributor this season with our depth

If either Bobby and/or yesefu are back, ekmarko will be behind them in the rotation, At least for awhile. They've got 2 years at KU already, and elmarko is fresh outta high school

I just don’t see GD as a top draft, I don’t know. He needs another year under Self, IMO. Plus he’s always wanted to play for KU, so maybe that and losing in the second round will keep him at KU another year. He needs to bulk up and be more aggressive.

The problem (for us) is that he’s ready to play in the NBA right now. And his skillet is such that he’ll absolutely be picked in the 11-20 range.

Why would he not go pro? Delaying a year will almost certainly cost him lots and lots of money. Either next year, or towards end of career, whenever that might be. Wanting kids to stay in school is dumb.

Maybe yes, maybe no. I think a mid-teens pick is in line for a rookie salary in the $4-5mm range. Would Gradey get there in NIL by staying? Probably not.

But, would what Gradey can get in NIL, plus all the “soft” reasons college is better/more fun, plus the possibility of moving up in the draft* for a higher rookie salary in 2024-25, move the needle enough?

It’s at least possible. And I would like that very much. I would prefer Gradey play for KU next year, rather than some mid NBA team (because I am a fan of KU, not NBA teams).

“Wanting kids to stay in school is dumb”? I’m guessing you dropped out after you failed Psych 101 at KU. Dumb ass.

We’re going to run into a number crunch soon. Scholarship reduction, 4 recruits coming in.

Makes me nervous about how we used - well, didn’t use - Rice this year.

^^. I think Gradey tests the waters, all depends on how he does in NBA combines. Might come back he needs another year for a lottery pick. I just don’t think he’s there yet. But NBA scouts might think different and if so, good for him.
