I wonder if fans will ever truly appreciate Dok for how good he is.

I mean, he's tops on this metric, but that doesn't include things like how much space he clears for shooters, by drawing double teams, etc.

Right. Lots of people complain that he isn't a better shot blocker. (We got spoiled by Aldrich and Withey and now think 2 bpg isn't really good, when it is). But I bet there are a handful of times during a game where someone pulls up early, or takes a jumper rather than going to the rim with a shot because he's there, that reduces opponents FG% and reduces our chances for picking up fouls.

His weaknesses are pronounced and his strengths aren't 'sexy'.
"So he can dunk, he's huge, anyone his size should be able to do that."
He's a major factor on this team and changes the way opponents have to play us.

dude's a beast.

no offense past 3 feet, and can't shoot free throws, but still the player other teams have to gameplan around more than anyone else.

That said, because we have depth at the front court, and we obviously don't at point ( yikes Garrett ) Dotson is still our MVP.

This kinda shit pisses me off more than anything. How many 7' stiffs have we seen. Jason Bennett had a lot of size, That douche from WVU that gave BofH a stiffy was plenty big and they were terrible. I mean does no one remember Chenowith as a Jr. or Sr.

And even worse is when I hear shit like, "He SHOULD shoot 75%, he only shoots from inside 5 feet". The entire purpose of running an offense is to try to get the team the best possible shot on each possession. Now we've got a guy who can get himself into a position to get a dunk or layup 8-10 times per game and suddenly we don't like it any more!?!?!?!? What the fuck is that. We should want every player who puts on the jersey to be able to get 5+ dunks per game, we'd never loose again.

He gives this team the most efficient method of scoring, and that's even true when you factor in his poor FT% AND the fact that he doesn't shoot 3's, because his TS% and eFG% have been the best on the team the past couple years, and likely will be again this season once Braun and Moss have more attempts.

Wait, I thought chenowith’s junior and senior years sucked cuz instead of locking himself in the gym he spent his summers being a groupie for Dave Matthews band?

but if he's 7' and 270 why would he need to lock himself in the gym at all, if ya know, anyone that size should be able to do the stuff Dok does?
