Consensus AA 2nd team in 2015-2016.

3x All big 12.

He's going up.

Lol Illy, one of those is Third Team. I love how you keep trying to upgrade his accomplishments.

All that said, we’ve already watered down the rafters so why not add marginal* players like PE

The only guy that doesn’t meet the old criteria is Rush. That one I get.

Perry Ellis is 9th on the all time scoring list.

I can't find the all time rebounds list, but he's almost certainly top 20.

The old criteria was severely flawed in my opinion. Having a great career ( or a single year) isn’t enough to be rafter worthy for me. You need to be truly special to go up there.

There are a lot of other ways to honor good/great players without putting them in the rafters.

Rush is very marginal for me, I’d likely vote to not put him up. That said, in a lot of ways, he was the most crucial piece to that championship team. And the means A LOT.

Bill’s first star. That went a long way.

And, trust me, I’m a huge Brandon Rush fan. Dude was a big part of what is/was the Golden Age of Kansas Basketball

Just think about his tourney performances compared to Perry’s. It’s night and day and the difference between name in the gym vs. not.

He has to stop shooting shots like the 25 footer he shot today, with 5+ to go in the game, a good lead, and 20 sec. left on the shot clock.

The key against Baylor is getting to the rim. They are absolutely selling out for the perimeter.

Name two starting PGs in the Self era that you would take after Devon Dotson. Nadiir Tharpe and.... who else? He is blessed with elite speed but there really isnt any skill that I would consider him to be that good at. Below average passer, turnover prone and below average three point shooter.

Seems like a great kid and is overall scoring well for us because he can just blow past 90% of the guys that try to cover him. But he has so many holes in his game that I cannot see what it is that he would do in an NBA game next season to warrant leaving after this season. Bummer that it's going to happen anyways; he might be a really good college player next season.
