Gamestop

Post by NDballer13 »

Any one else in on this rocketship? Bought some shares Monday at $85.70, sold this morning at $352.86.

Now apparently the White House is getting involved. Legal for the suits to make billions at the expense of the little guys, flip it around and all of a sudden there's an "investigation".

"Shares of both GameStop and AMC Entertainment Holdings more than doubled on Wednesday, forcing hedge funds to take heavy losses and sparking calls for scrutiny of anonymous stock market trading posts on social media."

I became aware too late, I'm afraid. Not feeling jumping in now.

Got in on a few of AMC this afternoon, hopefully not too late. Also seeing rumblings on reddit of Nokia being in play.

It is odd. People basically shorted the Gamestop stock by betting it to fail and it didn't. Once they got bailed out by the government stimulus package, they doubled up on the bet. Now you have average Joe's pretty much holding the shares for ransom against the billion dollar hedge funds.

It's all fascinating. I'm wondering what the long-term effects will be. Whether as a result of regulatory intervention or voluntary risk management, are we going to see a dramatic drop-off in short-selling practices?

Seeing both GameStop and AMC are dropping at least 20% in overnight trades. GameStop like 20% and AMC dropping 30%+. Yikes.

LOL! I don't know about AMC but as far as GME, if I'm not mistaken, the same think happened yesterday.
Go ahead and take a look now. At 6:20am on 1/28/21.

I got in with Nokia just for kicks to be a part of this.
Robinhood ( i don't use ) had Gamestop, AMC and Nokia removed from trading/selling right now.
That sounds illegal.

They are trying to force people to sell their stocks.
And aren't allowing people to buy.
Probably tens of thousands of people with their 'money' frozen.

I'm allowed to buy/sell through TDA still - but because all those people are locked out means the price doesn't have the peak increase.

I miss OWS.

It should have had much more populist appeal.

so we let half a million Mericans (and counting) die from a virus cuz we couldn’t let the almighty stock market slow down, yet it’s no less vulnerable to being punked by a Reddit forum.

Kinda makes you wonder what we could accomplish with the satellite bored.
