I bet if the game was Friday, and KU Men's BB won it's first game in the second weekend, you'd have a pretty good party up and down Mass, but not 'epic'.

Winning a championship in a 2nd tier sport is still a big deal.

Winning a National Championship in a D1 sport is something many colleges spend million$$ chasing every year.
Regardless of what sport it is, it is a huge accomplishment.

A. Have 8 days ( paid ) vacation, room/food/drinks paid for, any 7 seat or fewer vehicle to rent and have to drive those 3 posters from Lawrence Kansas to San Diego and then back. You cannot rent a limo with the push up window, someone has to sit shotgun. You can't wear headphones. You don't have control of the radio. Upon arrival back in Lawrence, you get 8,000 dollars in cash.
B. Get one day vacation and have to eat dinner with them at Zen Zero for one hour, tab is covered.
