I really do not understand Scott Drew winning COY.

He went 1-3 against Kansas and Texas Tech.

His team is the defending NCAA Champion.

I don’t get it.

I mean, he did lose like 8 or 9 guys off of last years team, right?

It’s not the worst pick. I would have picked Adams personally.

I admit my confusion.
Why would you allow yourself to fume (and continue to fume) about about Scott Drew winning Big 12 COY?

I'm not saying Self does or doesn't deserve it over Drew but why do you feel he does?

Who do you feel should have won it?

Here’s another terrible example:

Bryson Williams was a unanimous first team all big 12 selection, yet didn’t win Newcomer of the Year. 🤷‍♂️

KJ on all-freshman team is either odd, or the Big XII is in some trouble

I scoured the Big 12 Frosh. It’s bad…

The big 12 had a ton of transfers come into the league last season. Instead of freshman. A lot of key transfers play big roles on some of the better teams. So its an older league that doesn't have many freshman playing big minutes at all

The big 12 capitalized off the transfer market big time. A lot of good players from other conferences transferred into the league. It actually could be a good thing and a good sign of things to come for the big 12. If the transfer market continues to look the way it does, a lot of school in our league will continue to capitalize it

Bringing in good upperclassman limits the roles freshman will play. I think that has a lot to do with why the big 12 was so strong this year, especially with so many good defensive teams. Teams built on the upperclassman are going to be stronger tougher and more experienced

Its almost like the transfer market could turn the big 12 into a super league. Guys play a couple years college ball and prove themself, blow up and transfer into the big 12. To play in the toughest conference in the country

What would make sense is that the voting was: Drew 4, Adams 3, Otzelberger 3.

I would have also gone with Adams since it is a conference award. Tech was in line for the #1 seed in the Big 12 tourney all the way up to the very last 2 games.

I come back to us winning a share of the league without the preseason conference POY.

Not only did Tech not win the league, they pissed down their leg. That matters!
