Call me a p*ssy for this thread but...

Post by painter »

1. The games in the big dance are all about match ups
2. We struggle against athletic teams with talented big men.
3. Based on what I have watched lately, the teams that will cause us problems are teams like:

Kentucky--May have been an anomaly game, but let's be real...our athletes vs their athletes we lose this
Auburn--yes they lost to A&M but this is a terrible match up for us
Tennessee -- May be a weird addition to this list, but they play man ball. I love you Mitch and McCormack, but if we play them..we're getting man-handled.
Baylor actually falls into this category as well.

Thoughts?

UNC-they’re not really Roy boys anymore and they are a pretty athletic bunch, plus they have a solid play making point.

Nova-it seems like Wright has Selfs number lately

1. 1988 reminds me to never be afraid of any "match up".
2. Every team in the country can and often does "struggle" against athletic teams with talented big men.
3. Based on what I have watched lately, Kansas is going to cause more problems for other teams than other teams are going to cause trouble for Kansas.

I’d prefer teams with above average to fast tempos with good offenses but average defenses, offensive rebounding and block rates.

Put Kentucky somewhere else please.

I'd like another shot at kentucky. We're not as bad as we played that night and they're not as good.

We want no part of Illinois if they are a 3 or 4 seed in our bracket.

Honestly, we don't match up very well with the majority of top teams....BUT with Och we can win on any given night. The tournament is often about stars and we certainly have one of the brightest on our team.

We also have a veteran team. Not much tournament success, but grown men who are physically ready for what the next 6 games will require.

I feel much better about our chances for a final 4 after winning the big 12 tournament. It's nice to have some momentum building.

We want no part of Illinois? The same Illinois that went 5-4 in their last 9 games including loses to unranked Rutgers and Indiana?
Bring 'em on!

cant handle big athletic teams was what everyone said about us in 2018 too
everyone panicked when duke was our elite 8 match up

then svi went out there and won his match up with marvin bagley.

you never know, sometimes its the match up, sometimes its just who plays better on any given day, sometimes its just who has more heart

this team is playing really good basketball right now. bring on whatever match up
