Re: Modern feminism thread
If you mean, how bad it has been for women in STEM (minus biology and psychology), then I concur. There have been a lot of professionals who think there is no problem, but problems are still too common.

Re: Modern feminism thread
Illinois, a lot has been done in academia in recent years to address implicit and explicit bias against women professionals (ie the female Deans, Profs, etc,). I imagine it is a different experience then you probably have working for banks and often outdoors. There is a lot more to it than who opens...

Re: Modern feminism thread
Unless someone is carrying something in their arms, the first person who gets to the door, opens the door, and often holds it for the others. Smiles and quick thank-yous ensue. No one runs around the others to be the first to the door so they can hold it for the others. If it is people walking toget...

Re: Modern feminism thread
If it was a female professor, then yes. Why would she want someone’s chivalry? What she wants is to be seen as a valuable person and not someone too weak to open a door. Just treat a female professor the same as a male professor... stop viewing and judging them by their sex. While at work, they are ...

Re: I believe her
You posted this in a thread about a SC nominee.
You asked why there weren’t demands being made here about Brown and I answered. I’d assume if Brown was in Kansas, you might get more discourse going here.

Re: Totally random thread
Interesting that one of the three ways you chose to define her is by her age. Maybe your point was that she was older than a 20-year-old. Hopefully after 5 hours he was able to find more substance in her.

Re: Shut down that BORDER Mr. President
The difference is that bridges are used to cross the river where I speaking of. Not many people are going to attempt to swim across the Niagara River. Incidentally, I have studied this and the best location would be directly under the Peace Bridge (Buffalo-FortErie). However, underneath the bridge i...

I wrote "JFC" to you. It wasn't because I was "shocked" by your desires for a feminine woman who only does stereotypical feminine things. Rather, I was shocked that (1) your writing was not linear (this may be a sign of super intelligence, but is not very convincing to us mere mo...

Re: Shut down that BORDER Mr. President
I live near a US border (New York and Ontario, Canada). I can't imagine what it would be like if they closed down borders here. There are people who drive back and forth every day commuting to work/school (I did it myself for two years). The amount of trade in both directions is HUGE at these crossi...

Re: Modern feminism thread
If what I wrote was so shocking, it's a sign that some of you need to a little more research on how men really feel about women these days. Just google why men are looking abroad for wives in places like South America. I don't see anything "shocking" with stating that I have always wanted...

Feral is ok. Feral’s points are clear regardless if visual or in text. That is more than I can say for some posters.
Meme/gif bombs (at least on .net) were when one posts like 12 in a row. Feral, as far as I have seen, only posts one at a time and they are always related to the discussion.

Have we spoken about the numbers? How many is Trump saying died, like a dozen and he thinks he saw each one of them personally on his visit? Our society can not live months without electricity. The heat will kill the old and the fat. All the people on dialysis can’t survive without electricity. Does...

And another thing, what 37-year-old needs a man to have a baby? I'm surprised she wants a baby at all. A lot of people are happy to go the no-kid route. TJ and Illinois are having enough kids to make up for them. A 37-year-old single woman has resources, kids need to be adopted, and sperm is availab...
