Re: This Should Be Good.....
Wilt over Shaq, cheat and put Bill Russell at the 4 and I respectfully disagree with Larry over LeBron at the 3. My team is the starting 5 in the Universal Basketball Tourney - if played at Earth's gravity of course. I want Larry for his moxy, shooting (not only 3 pointers, but free throws), clutch...

If i put together the best functional 5 player team and Im not sure Lebrons on it. Theres a lot of options but i think you go something like
Magic
Michael
Larry
Duncan
Wilt or Shaq

For me, Wilt is the GOAT, and Jordan is the non-center GOAT; anytime you have to change the rules to accommodate how superior they were, puts them in a different category, imo.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
The notion that the folks are going to rush right back to normalcy the minute we get the all clear to open back up is wrong wrong wrong. It’s going to take some time. The longer we wait, the longer we wait. We gotta start dipping our toe in. True, I think. The timetable here in Utah is very slowly ...

Re: Silver linings of shutdown
Yeah, that looks like an officer's sword. My grandfather unfortunately had to sell our family sword which was in the clan for generations in order to buy rice during WWII. Now there's a story! What still blows my mind is that although my American grandfather (whom sadly, I never got to meet, everyo...

This is my only knife of any note. It's a Gurkha Khukri, made in Nepal. A patient of mine gave it to me in appreciation for...not dying. He had been admitted to the ICU in a coma in critical condition with a stroke, spent almost 6 months in the hospital, had almost everything possible go wrong with...

The old Highlander TV series had a nice array of different swords during its run, including one memorable episode with Mike Ehrmentraut.

Re: Silver linings of shutdown
I'm intrigued. Is there much practical application for these sorts of blades, besides machete-type work? cuz that would be so rad for beaver to walk in and be like, bro what are you doing? ohh you know, just making some guac. *cuts avocados with a sword* Hah! They're a bit too unwieldy for kitchen ...

Oh bolos are fantastic! I'd love to get a German or Italian version like a Kriegsmesser or Falchion (Falcata); they make for amazingly great cutters.

Re: Silver linings of shutdown
Must be the japanese genes, I have an unhealthy fascination with sharp objects in general. Have a couple Albions--the jewel of the collection is the Munich model, a beautiful longsword inspired by an example housed in the Bayerisches National museum in Munich with an Oakeshott Type XVIIIb blade and...
