Re: Redshirt rules

It's not so much that Bill doesn't like McCormack, it's that Bill doesn't think Dedric can play the 4 spot next to another big. You're definitely right about that. I think Self deserves some heat for that. He's had over an entire year to figure that out....or recruit some shooters. I like small bal...

Re: Vick

For me, the more concerning thing about Lawson isn't how he projects as a professional, it's how inconsistent he's been. He's played like shit (by the high standards we're expecting) in the last 3 games. Not to mention the VT game. With limited perimeter shooting, the success of this team relies pr...

Re: Doke OUT for Season.

We're Kansas-fucked - the trajectory of the season now appears to be we will scratch and claw our way to at least a share of the league, then top out in the second weekend of the tournament. Unless something Grimes drastically changes Grimes with being able to get offense out of Grimes, anyway. 16....

Don't see a ton of season ending wrist injuries, he he somehow tears the same ligament in both? Wonder what drills they were running when he did it.

Another report of Jimmy being a great teammate. Questioning the coach about a bigger role in the offense.

Re: Hack-a-Doke?

But fouling intentionally IS a basketball play. It is done to save clock and get possession when losing in EVERY close game. Self’s staff (and probably the players too) all know who the oppositions best and worst free throwers are. Why? Because they wat to intentionally foul at some point. Right, s...

Is that official yet? Or are the Bulls going to say they thought they were getting Dillon Brooks instead of MarShon too?

Re: Dedric

Grimes has decent form on his release - I think he can knock down a higher percentage. Just needs to slow it down. He took one in the 2nd half last night that is a perfect example. He caught the ball on the wing and not a single body was on that side of the floor. Instead of taking his time and get...

Re: Quentin Grimes

There was a play last night where he knew the guy guarding him had no chance so he posted him and got fouled. Liked it. Is that the dude Fran said he played against a bunch in high school? Probably why he knew he had no chance, since he's probably scored a shit ton on him already. Just needs to tre...

Re: NCAA Basketball 2018/2019

I'll answer for myself b/c this topic interests me: It's UCLA and L.A. The program sells itself. Hoiberg now has complete NBA chops in front office, scouting and head coaching that will help keep California kids at home. He'll tie the program in with the Lakers and Clippers given his connections. H...

More to college athletics than just Basketball.
Stanford, UCLA, and USC rank 1,2,3 out of all conference affiliated schools for the most NCAA Championships.
Zero percent chance the 7' druggie spewing conference of champions every minutes knows that.

Re: Officiating

Kansas is good enough to win most badly officiated games. But too many times you see a disparity in calls in big games. The margins are thin with good teams, and an “extra” 10-14 FTs like ASU had allowed them to be more aggressive and changed the game. Like defensive holding calls in the NFL. Free ...

Re: Officiating

How do the refs not look at the over and back play? No monitor review??? This can't be reviewed. I don't see a good reason, if the play is stopped due to this call, not to review. It's not subjective like a foul call. Yup. If they call it out of bounds off them then they can review....but since the...

You'd fit right in with the Gonzaga bandwagoners that say Duke doesn't belong above them, no matter what happens, because Gonzaga won head to head a month ago.

I am not disappointed; just bummed for him. He's trying to figure it out. Quinerley at Nova and Little at Carolina are also going through the same issues so he isn't alone and KU/Self doesn't look "bad" for it. College hoops is hard even when you're supposed to be some hot shit HS recruit...

Re: Quentin Grimes

I will admit, I've been quite disappointed with Grimes so far. I, along with I assume are many other fans and experts, thought one McDonald's AA would come in and hit the ground running, while the other would take a few weeks/months to get adapt. While that has turned out to be true, it's just who c...

Re: Quentin Grimes

But, like you eluded to, all of the reports and assumptions were based on him being a 1/2 guard more than the 2/3 guard he is playing on this team. It's tough to say they are off when we have yet to really see him play the position he was scouted as.
